Dept. Sports Mins.: I Would Have Been A Fool To Exclude NDC Supporters To Egypt

Deputy Sports Minister, Joseph Yamin has debunked claims that only National Democratic Congress (NDC) foot soldiers were airlifted to Egypt to cheer the Black Stars in their FIFA play-off World Cup qualifier in Cairo.
According to him, the alleged “foot soldiers” were rather delegations from various Supporters’ Unions and some selected journalists.
In an attempt to justify his claims, he opined that, it would have been an indictment to his office to exempt NDC supporters the trip to Cairo.
“I will be a fool as a minister to exclude the people who ensure that I am who I am today to Egypt. I can’t say I will not have any feelings for them (NDC supporters) and say I will not allow them to go when such opportunity is available.
“…But I can confidently tell that only a few of them (NDC supporters) had that opportunity. Majority of the delegation to Cairo were from various Supporters’ Union and Journalists,” he noted on OKAY FM.
300 soccer fans, selected from across the country, were handled by the office of Hon. Joseph Yamin prior to their departure to Egypt.
Government sponsored the 300 soccer fanatics to Cairo but the Deputy Sports Minister rubbished claims that, customized “Mahama T-shirt” which the supporters donned were distributed by government officials to cheer the senior national team, the Black Stars in the second leg World Cup play-off against Egypt.
