#BringBackOurGirls protesters storm presidential villa

It has been six months since Boko Haram abducted the over 200 Chibok schoolgirls from the Government Girls’ Secondary School in Borno.
#BringBackOurGirls protesters today marched to the Presidential Villa in Abuja, to “convey the urgency of the girls’ rescue and to hear directly from the president on the status of the rescue efforts by security agencies.
Meanwhile, Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mike Omeri, reportedly stated that the activities of #BringBackOurGirls protesters have become a distraction to the government.
Mr Omeri made this statement during a press conference in Abuja yesterday, Daily Newswatch reports.
He reportedly accused the protesters of politicizing the issue, and stated that “It is necessary to caution those involved in daily protests that there is a clear difference between credible civil agitation and subversive preoccupations.”
