Mass burial to be held for unclaimed dead bodies at Mampong Mortuary

The Mampong government hospital has resolved to bury together all unclaimed dead bodies which have been at the mortuary for over 2 years.

Dr Kusi Baffour Gyimah speaking on Kessben FM’s Breaking News With Kwasi Ntiamoah revealed that there are currently 27 unclaimed dead bodies in the morgue.

According to him, some of the deceased have been at the mortuary for more than two years.

This he says has been causing congestion in the morgue which can only contain 80 dead bodies.

The last time a mass burial was held for unclaimed dead bodies from the Mampong morgue was in 2021.

Most of the dead bodies are people who died through accidents and other untimely deaths who did not have IDs on them to properly be traced to their families.

Dr Kusi urged all to do well to carry some form of ID on them in case of any unforeseen eventuality
