Police meet political parties leadership over election petition

The Northern Regional Police command has begun series of meetings with leadership of the various political parties in Tamale.

This is to avert any possible clashes when the Supreme Court finally announces its verdict on the case.

At the said meeting on Thursday, the regional police Commander, DCOP Ken Yeboah impressed on them to help the security agencies maintain peace in the area.

Representatives of the political parties at the meeting are expected to sanitize their supporters on the need to co-exist peacefully.

They are also expected to spell out guidelines for supporters of the parties asking them to desist from using intemperate language in the media.

Considering particularly the Tamale metropolis as one of the identified hotspots in Ghana, the move is aimed at ensuring that the region’s peace is not jeopardized.
