I am a little shaken by Supreme Court’s invite – Ken Kuranchie

The Editor of the Daily Searchlight newspaper, Ken Kuranchie has confessed that he is a little shaken by the Supreme Court’s invitation to make himself available to the court on Tuesday.

“You will not be a human being if you are not a little shaken or a little rattled by such an invitation. But you’d take it along, guard your loins and you try not to shake too much in your boots as you go to this type of invitation.”

The President of the nine-member panel of the Supreme Court justices presiding over the hearing of the election petition case, Justice William Atuguba on Thursday ordered Ken Kuranchie and the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Stephen Atubiga and Kwaku Boahene to appear before the court on July 2.

The three are believed to have made contemptuous statements concerning the case in the media.

Justice Atuguba on Wednesday banned the Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku from attending the hearing of the case following his decription of the ruling of the judges as “hypocritical and selective.”

Speaking on Eyewitness News on Thursday, Mr. Kuranchie stated that “we intend to make ourselves available even though it’s a verbal invitation, we will make ourselves available and then… we will see how to answer to any charges on Tuesday.”

“We will listen to our lordships and if there is anything we can do about their hurt, we would do something about it.”
