Pro National Democratic Congress (NDC) group calling itself Action Citizens in the Buem Constituency has vowed to expose the party’s General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia’s “sinister agenda” that led to the disqualification of Kofi Adams from contesting the party’s Buem primaries.
The National Executive Committee of the NDC disqualified Kofi Adams from contesting the vacant Buem seat, stating that he cannot contest the bye-elections until the party concludes disciplinary proceedings against him.
Mr Adams was last year suspended as Deputy General Secretary of the party for allegedly plotting with some opposition figures to ruin the NDC’s chances in the just ended 2012 elections.
But the leader of the group, Courage Aboadi, in an interview on Joy FM Saturday accused Mr. Nketia of orchestrating the prohibition of the spokesperson for the Rawlingses.
“Asiedu Nketia has worked tirelessly to ensure that Mr Adams was prevented from contesting but we want to tell him that very soon we are going to expose his dubious activities in the party for the public to know the kind of person he is,” the group added.
He revealed that the group will not countenance plots that will compromise the party’s cohesion.
The group has therefore threatened to stage demonstrations across the country if Mr Adams is not allowed to contest on the party’s ticket.
“The demonstration is to challenge Asiedu Nketia to prove to the public that he does not have a hand in Mr Adams disqualification]”, he stressed.
