Boa Amponsem students escape death at Assin Afanko

Over 50 students of Boa Amponsem Senior High School (SHS) at Dunkwa in the Central Region escaped death yesterday Wednesday February 17, 2016 when their school bus caught fire and burnt beyond recognition.
The students were returning from a sporting activity at Assin Manso when the driver noticed the unusual smoke emanating from the engine side upon reaching Assin Afanko road.
A freelance Journalist in the area, Gabriel Bediako explained that though no student was injured, they lost all their sporting kits and other properties.

‘They were returning from Inter schools sporting competitions (Interco) when the bus caught fire, immediately the driver asked the students to get down from the bus, it started burning as they surprisingly looked on without been able to pick their properties,’ he indicated.
In an interview with the students, they stated that the brake, engine, water and oil levels in the bus are always checked anytime they travel with it, wondering the cause of the fire.
