Voting ends at certain centres in Anyaa Sowutuom Constituency

Provisional results at the Crusade Academy polling stations A and B under the Anyaa Sowutuom Constituency in Accra Accra Region indicate that the New Patriotic Party’s Presidential Candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo leads in the polls cast there.
He had 622 out of the total votes at both of the polling stations at the Crusade Academy while President John Mahama of the NDC had 312 votes.
The NPP Parliamentary Candidate, Ms Shirley Ayorkor Botcway had 604 votes and the NDC’s Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu had 367 out of the votes cast.
At station A, 10 of the parliamentary ballot papers were rejected during counting that lasted from 1700 hours to 2030 hours.
CPP Parliamentary candidate had four votes whereas PPP’s candidate had 10 votes. The other political parties did not have any of the votes at all.
Station B had three presidential ballot papers rejected.
For the Presidential, PPP’ presidential candidate, Dr Papa Kwasi Ndoum had seven votes and CPP’s candidate had two.
The Presiding Officer, Mr Prince Amia-Kwofie told the GNA that the counted votes would be sent to the collation centre at the Odorgonno Senior High School in Aworshie for further action to be taken by EC officials.
Meanwhile, voting at the B Kontonkye Polling station at Santa Maria within the Anyaa Sowutuom came to a halt after the BVD machine broke down. As at 1900 hours many people continued to stay in long queues with the hope that the device would be repaired or replaced.
EC Officials told GNA that they were still waiting for instructions from EC head quarters.
