Ten hours before polls open in Ghana’s election, long queues formed at polling centers

With less than ten hours to the opening of the December 7 polls, reports reaching Myjoyonline.com indicate that scores of people in some polling stations have already formed queues in anticipation of casting their ballots when it opens at 7 am.
According to the reports, prospective voters in some polling stations all over the country particularly Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern and Western regions who could not contain their anxiety for the crucial day trooped their polling stations determined to exercise their franchise when voting opens in about 8 hours.
Some prospective voters of the Alogboshie Basic School in the Okaikoi North, Greater Accra were said to have arrived at the station around 2100 hours. As at 2230, their number has swelled to about 37.
The situation wasn’t different at the Awoshie Water Works, Living Bread, Macarthy Basic Schools A&B polling stations in the Ablekuma North constituency where voters have formed a queue eagerly awaiting the polls. As they queued some argued as to who indeed was first to arrive.
The number of prospective voters keeps swelling at most of these polling stations.
