Pay us all our money – Fire officers demand
Some Fire Service personnel in the Central Region are threatening to abandon their duty post at the various polling stations because according to them, their superiors have taken monies from the GHC 150 due them as allowance.
Speaking to Citi News on condition of anonymity, one of the affected Fire Service personnel indicated that “the big men are trying to give us GHC 60 each so they take the remaining GHC 90. And this is not fair. Our sister services have been issued their amount of money, fully paid and we are going to perform the same kind of job. We need the money for transportation and accommodation.”
The officers are however threatening to leave their posts if their monies are not paid by close of day Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Fire Service, Prince Billy Anaglatey has explained that the money was reduced due to the high number of officers deployed.
