W/R: Road project from Essiama to Nkrumah’s hometown Nkroful is 88% complete – Owusu-Bempah

The road construction from Esiama to Nkruful, hometown of Ghana’s first president Dr Kwame Nkrumah in the Western Region, is 88 per cent complete, Head of Corporate Communications at the Ghana National Gas Company, Ernest Owusu Bempah has said.

The project is being funded by the Ghana National Gas Company.

Mr Owusu-Bempah described project as ‘first class road ‘  that is being constructed.

Speaking to journalists after leading a team to tour the project last week, he said “We have a corporate social responsibility at Ghana National Gas Company.

“This is Kwame Nkrumah’s hometown Nkroful, the road was in a deplorable state for over  45 years. It was under the Acheampong government that the road saw some maintenance but destroyed again.

“But through the leadership of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Ghana Gas, we have been able to put that road there. Today, if you travel from Essiama to Nkroful, there is a first class road which is 88 per cent complete, it is Ghana Gas project.”

He added that the company is also providing recreational centers including stadia to support the people of Nzema.

“Go to Benyin and the sort of stadium we have built over there for the people of Nzema. The Nzema Kotoko stadium has been turned into AstroTurcf, We are also building the biggest Trauma centre in the whole of West African.”
