Four Police families left homeless
Four families of Policemen living in a suburb of Accra known as Sahara Tunga have been left stranded after they were kicked out of their home by a Nigerian man who claimed he had been given permission to do so.
According to Citi News reporter, Eugenia Tenkorang who was on the scene, the belongings of the families have been moved out of what has been their home for the past five years.
According to her, the ejected families indicated that the house, a four bedroom house, was handed them by the late former MP for Ablekuma South constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Theresa Ameley Tagoe.
They noted that a week ago, a Nigerian man served them a letter from the Minister for Women and Children’s Affairs, Hon.Juliana Jocelyn Azumah-Mensah, ordering them to quit the residence in a week.
According to Eugenia, the husbands, who are police officers at the Dansoman Divisional Police Service, after inquiring from their superiors for a solution to their predicament, were told to secure their own accommodation.
She reported that the families could be without a place of abode for about a month because the next most available place accommodation will be ready in that time frame.
