Prophetess Possessed In Court
A prophetess caused a stir at an Accra Circuit Court on Thursday, when she suddenly got possessed and started speaking in tongues to put the ‘fear of God’ into the presiding judge, and was remanded into prison custody.
Florence Kekeli Akpene, is a prophetess of the Akofananami Society Church, and her action infuriated the judge, when she appeared before the court, charged for defrauding Daniel Kuagbenu, a pensioner of GH¢60,089.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded to appear on November 22, 2012.
The Prophetess, who seemed not to be aware of what had happened to her, was later told by her father of what had taken place in the courtroom and she started crying when she was being escorted tot eh court cells.
Mr. Geroge Asumani, her counsel prayed the court to admit her to bail since the offence was a bailable one.
However, Mr. Ebenezer Osei Darko, the presiding judge got incensed because the actions of the accused appeared to be a ploy to scare him to grant her the bail.
Mr. Osei Darko retorted “you cannot scare me with your tongues; I am a Christian and I believe in God. I am remanding the accused into prison custody, sot that when she goes there she can threaten them too.”
