Expedite action on Sofoline Interchange, Kokofu urges

The Member of Parliament for Bantama, Hon Henry Kwabena Kokofu, has urged government to speed up the completion of the stalled Kumasi Sofoline Interchange almost a year after the project was abandoned.
Sharing his concern with Kessben TV, Hon Kokofu said he was concerned about the non-availability of funds for the project, even though he insists the project has been covered in government budgetary allocations.
Work on the Sofoline interchange project ground to a halt on November 15, 2013 in what was meant to be a temporary suspension.
Back then, the construction firm in charge of the project, China Geo Corporation, said although the government was committed to the project, the economic conditions of the country were making it difficult for funds to be released for the project.
The interchange, expected to be the biggest in West Africa when completed, has been hit by several delays due to inadequate funds.
