Sammy Adjei And Esme Mends Exchange Blows…

Two key performers of Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Sammy Adjei and midfielder Esme Mends are alleged to have exchanged blows at the club’s training grounds at Pobeman.
A source close to the team revealed that the midfielder asked the goalkeeper to apologise to the club’s goalkeepers’ trainer Abukari Damba after Adjei had engaged in hot verbal exchanges with Damba.
Apparently, Damba had blamed the team’s 1-3 loss to Ebusua Dwarfs on the goalkeeper. According to the source, Damba lamented about how Adjei conceded some goals he described as ‘easy’, which angered the former Black Stars goal stopper who consequently replied angrily.
Adjei believed he did not perform badly, attributing the loss to a general below-average performance by the entire team.
He was alleged to have questioned Damba’s track record as a goalkeeper (RTU/Black Stars), and the trainer’s right to blame him entirely for the Tema loss. It emerged however that Adjei was considering putting pen to paper to render an apology to his superior at the time of filing this story.
