Lightning strikes student dead

Lightning struck the Okomfo Anokye Senior High School (SHS) at Wiamoase in the Ashanti Region, setting a second year female student on fire and killing her in the process.
The deceased, Angelina Agyei, 19, described as a devout Christian, was on her way to worship the Lord.
Her remains had been deposited at the morgue at the Mampong Hospital pending autopsy. Another female student who was seriously injured is receiving treatment at the hospital.
According to the Daily Graphic, the incident happened at about 6pm on Thursday after a heavy downpour in the town.
A source told the paper, the two students were on their way to attend a meeting of the Scripture Union, outside campus when the disaster struck.
The source said when they reached the main entrance to the school, the lightning struck at them and Angelina’s uniform began to burn.
Her colleague was, however, rushed to hospital where she is receiving treatment.
