"My signature was forged" – Energy Minister maintains

Energy Minister Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah has maintained the claim that his signature was forged to obtain drilling rights for a Canadian oil company.
According to Buah, the main suspect has been arrested and he has confessed forging the signature and expressed regret.
“Both the BNI (Bureau of National Investigations) and the police are handling the matter, which is purely a criminal one,” Mr Buah said, in an interview with a private TV station in Accra on Thursday evening.
Charles Andoh, an employee of Muira Energy is alleged to have forged his boss, Mr Kareem Abu’s signature to request for drilling rights at Cape Three Points from the Energy Ministry.
He then allegedly forged Mr Buah’s signature in a letter granting the concession.
This letter was then used to lure Canadian oil firm, Gondwana Oil Company, into the country by offering them a deal in the concession.
Mr Abu is said to have contacted called for Andoh’s arrest when he got wind of his actions.
Mr Buah is then said to have forwarded all the documents to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) for investigation.
